Watch Michael Young speak about the steps of the divorce process, and how the firm handles the divorce process.

When one spouse chooses a divorce the first step is preparing a petition for dissolution requesting that the court grant a divorce. Concurrently with that petition, our office request that the court provides specific orders usually including spousal support, child support, child custody and exclusive use of the residence. Those are some of the remedies that you can ask for at the time that the divorce petition is filed. Those orders are made and they last throughout the pendency of the marriage and usually they have some bearing upon the final orders that are rendered at the end of the dissolution process.
